Show & Tell Friday!

Good afternoon, everyone! It's Friday, which means Show & Tell, sponsored by Kelli.

This is my contribution for this week! It's actually TWO show & tells in one! :)

The two pots on the ends are ones I threw about 10 years ago. I LOVE throwing, and LOVE doing ceramics - but time and especially FINANCES have contrived to stop me from doing either.

These two are from a class I took at a community college in Florence, Oregon. I make a huge mess when I throw, but I can't tell you how satisfying it is to watch something with a beautiful shape grow out of a lump of clay and some water!!!

The teapot in the middle belonged to my maternal grandmother, who passed away over a year ago. She LOVED having a pot of tea and reading a book - something I also love to do - so I was blessed to receive this. She was a gentle woman who loved to laugh, and I got my love of reading partly from her. My mom reminds me of her - the GOOD points, anyway. :D

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed your visit, and will be back soon! :D

BE BLESSED, you who *are* blessed and highly favored!!!!

Hi. I think I lost you for a while.
I love the show and tell. The pottery is so cool. I know what you mean it is expensive. I love the shelf.

Hi Lori!
Oh your Grandmother's teapot is priceless. I also love to have tea. I love to read also, but as of late my attention span is good for beans. When I start rereading paragraphs I know I am in trouble. ;-)

Your clay pots and shelf along with the teapot make for a pretty and sentimental gathering. Thank You for sharing with us.

I have an AWARD waiting for you at my blog. Stop by and visit.

Blessings,
Kimmie

Is there anything you DON'T Do? Art-wise that is? You are so talented. I want a tea for one set. I've been looking at those. I know some people collect them and I've seen 3 or 4 in the resale shops recently. Yours is beautiful and it's so nice to have mementos of those who have meant much to us. Micha was really delighted with your comment (as was I) especially when I explained that you are a pro.

Lovely items. I bet seeing something come out of a lump of clay would be very satisfying. I'm so glad God turns something lovely out of us (a lump of clay!) if we stay on the Potters Wheel.

Gosh. You did a great job! My mother collects pottery and has some really interesting pieces - but none that she made herself!

Hi Lori :)

I'm such a goof it took me a minute to figure out what you meant by "threw" the pottery. At first I thought it was some new deal where you throw them and then put them back together LOL

I love the teapot that was your grandmothers. Very sweet. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Oh and thank you for your sweet words about Brownie :)

Have a beautiful weekend,
rue

WoW, I'd love to do real ceramics. I think I did something similar with clay in campfire girls ages ago but nothing authentic like you've done.

How did you get the duel coloring? Paint?
