Monday is SHARE WHAT YOU HEARD AT CHURCH DAY! :)

Good morning! How are you doing today??? Did you have a good weekend? What's going on in your world?
I'm still trying to get better! This cough is hanging on, and I had a super-long day on Saturday, so backslid a little bit yesterday as far as health goes. Oh, well. :) God is GOOD! He's on His throne, and He's in control!
So. What did YOU learn yesterday? In Sunday school, we talked about God's promises - first to Abram/Abraham, then the promises in the Bible that are aimed toward us. About His covenant with Himself to fulfill those promises, and about which one(s) meant most to us. I still think one of the best promises in the Bible is from Psalm 37:
3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
You know what He's taught me about that passage over the years? That He will change the desires of my heart to fit His will for my life! If I'm committing my way to Him, delighting in Him, my desires will ALWAYS line up with His will! Pretty awesome. :)
Anyway. The sermon was about vision, and giving, and blessing. Do YOU have a hard time writing that tithe check when finances are SO difficult, you can't figure out where your insurance payment, or rent, or car payment are coming from? I will admit it: I do. God's working on me, and He's convicting me more every week. It's one area we really have trouble TRUSTING.
So. What did you learn? What are YOU thinking about? What's on your heart today?

hi Lori -
I learned that a lot of the circumstances I am in today are because of past decisions or actions (overeating, overspending, procrastination--these have long-lasting effects in many areas, like tossing a rock into the pond and seeing the never-ending circles continue and continue til they finally disappear) - so I am suffering consequences and nothing more than that. No attack from the enemy, no one to blame but me. It's my time to pay the price for what I brought on myself and start practicing the disciplines of the Lord. Not an easy lesson, egg on my face, humble pie and conviction by the Holy Spirit. Karen

Does anyone read these after we post? I have asked a couple times how to get my picture into this frame, but no response. Help. K

Our sermon was on not letting life take over. LIVE each moment. When you sing a song...dont just say the words, MEAN the words. When you say a sentence, dont just say the words, MEAN the words. Dont lose site of yourself. In todays society its easy to lose ourselves in our work and or our activities. To surround ourselves with good people so that we do not lose ourselves in them.

What did I learn? More balance. I love to craft...but it is not EVERYTHING. I love my friends online but they are not EVERYTHING. I love to eat, but it is not EVERYTHING.
